Join us as we celebrate the re-installation of the Ocean Siren sculpture on the Strand with a special community gathering.
The Ocean Siren is a 4m high illuminated sculpture by artist Jason deCaires Taylor and inspired by Takoda Johnson, a young indigenous leader from the Wulgurukaba community. It serves as a warning signal about the warming seas' threat to the Great Barrier Reef.

We’ll start the evening with a relaxed drink and chat at the Watermark before walking to the Ocean Siren to watch the sunset. Members of the Museum of Underwater Art will give a short presentation about the significance of the Ocean Siren and its recent renewal.
This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, learn more about this iconic artwork, and appreciate its powerful message on climate change and reef conservation.
When: Friday 2025, from 5:30pm. Date to be confirmed due to technical maintenance.
