Coral planting with Dr david Vaughan - World Ocean Day
Come with us on an unforgettable day trip to the Museum of Underwater Art to celebrate World Ocean Week and be part of underwater art in the making as we plant corals with Dr David Vaughan. We plan to plant corals inside the hollow part of his Ocean Sentinel sculpture and around the coral greenhouse - join this amazing event and explore the Museum of Underwater Art at the same time!
There will also be the chance to join MOUA Director - Kerrie Everett- Horrocks with a Discover, Dive and Draw opportunity. This involves a guided dive and underwater drawing experience.

World Ocean Day 2024 Art Exhibition
Always wanted to see our underwater art but can’t quite make it out to John Brewer Reef? Then join us for this exiting land-based art exhibition in Townsville featuring all the original Ocean Sentinels as miniature sculptures 3D printed in exquisite detail. The sculptures will be accompanied by background information on the sentinels and the artwork as well as a series of photos by the artist Jason deCaires Taylor himself, documenting the stunning coral growth on the Coral Greenhouse - and if you’re lucky you might even meet one of the Ocean Sentinels in the flesh!

World Ocean Day 2024 Artistic Swimming
The Australian Olympic Artistic Swimming Team is coming to Townsville to perform at the Museum of Underwater Art and pools throughout the city. The team wants to help raise awareness for the Great Barrier Reef and its challenges as well as their sport in the lead up to the Paris Olympics.
